Intended learning outcomes

After approval in the course, students should possess the ability to:

  1. Characterize the major types of pollutants in different media (air, water and soil), know their origins and understand the fundamental principles of their transport in the environment.
  2. Know and understand different technologies and biotechnologies used in the treatment and remediation of contaminated environments and in the reduction / elimination of discharges of pollutants into the environment.
  3. Recognize and identify the advantages of biotechnological processes in the context of sustainable development of human societies.
  4. Master the principles of operation of technological and biotechnological processes applied in environmental remediation and prevention technologies, identify their design parameters and apply them in solving specific problems.
